Saints Fan

I don't usually play "dress up" with Hannah because she really doesn't like to be dressed. That's the one thing she hasn't really gotten over since she was born. However, she was in a super mood tonight, so I decided to give it a whirl. She didn't mind too much and enjoyed the playing that took place as a result. So here we go...by the way, that's the New Orleans Saints that she is a fan of (for those who aren't sports fans, that's professional football). They weren't ready for the picture, and I think I captured that! Much better!

She is INCREDIBLY ticklish on her thighs, right below her diaper. She is cracking up here...please also note her Saints socks.

Now to some this may look like a scared face, but trust me it is pure joy. She was having a great time playing with us.

Bear on the Loose!

Apparently there is a bear on the loose in our apartment complex! Now, Mom, before you start freaking out, read the whole thing! Having lived in Wyoming for three years, I am no longer surprised at the occasional wild animal showing up in town. When Jon's parents moved to Wyoming, I remember them telling us about the girls' school and how it is called Pronghorn Elementary...Pronghorn, as in Pronghorn antelope. They told us that it was named this because of the massive amounts of antelope that hang out in the school yard. I remembered thinking, "no way!" Well, I can attest that it is true. Gillette is over-run with antelope and they are literally everywhere...on the side of the road, in the flower garden in front of Mike & Cindy's house, on the golf course. You name it, and they are there. I think Jon's grandparents town had a mountain lion once and usually have lots of deer hanging out in the shade of the trees in many people's front yards. Laramie too has deer & antelope, although not nearly the amount that can be found in Gillette. Every once in a while you see a random herd antelope or deer and of course lots of rabbits, birds, and prairie dogs. The "scariest" thing I heard of in town when we were there was a moose, but of course there's lots of other stuff in the mountains which are really close to us. All of this to say, I am used to seeing lots of wildlife, but I have to admit that when the guy came in today announcing that there was a bear, I was pretty excited. So here's the scoop...apparently there has been a 300 lb. bear hitting the dumpster across the parking lot. He has been in two nights in a row now! I guess the HOA maintenance people were setting up traps or something today...usually they catch them, tranquilize them, and then release them in the mountains. I am not sure what their plan is for this guy, but I am do know what my plan is! I am going to stay up as late as possible tonight to see if I can see him. I really want to go throw some good leftovers in there so that I can see him, but I will refrain. By the way, I am totally not brave enough to sit out there, or go anywhere near there! I will just watch from my window...I've got a great view of the dumpster (haha, who would have ever guessed that a dumpster would be a great view?!?)...so it shouldn't be too hard to spot him if he shows up! Wish me luck! I really want to see him, and maybe get a picture or two! I will keep you posted if I see anything!

Hannah's Hanging Out Now

Hannah has gotten very mobile and verbal lately. We got her a bumbo so that she can hang out with us. The people at the YMCA, where she hangs out while Jon & I work out, always talk about how great she is and how they wish that all the kids would be like her. Stuff like that always makes ya proud! Anyway, so I just thought I would post a few pictures here of Hannah. I hope to take some "after" pictures of our new house soon. I have taken "before" pictures...aka. pre-paint, patching, and wallpaper removal. So, soon, you will see the finished product. Until then, Hannah will just have to do (sigh, it's tough right?). Hannah Happenings

I know I have given lots of updates lately on how busy little Miss Hannah is, but I haven't had an opportunity to really just give general updates on her, so that is what I will do tonight. She is growing like a weed these days and I am anxious for her next doctors appointment to see just how much she has grown. She is still in 0-3 month clothes, despite the fact that she has surpassed 3 months of age, and I suspect that she will be in them for a while. Most of them are still a little big on her. She has started giggling...and I mean loud giggling. When she starts, I start and we just feed on each other. I have literally been in tears from laughing so hard at her when she laughs. Also, she is getting to be such a "big kid" lately. We bought her an exersaucer about a week or two ago and she LOVES it. She gets really frustrated at times because it is hard for her to push the buttons...and she really wants to push the buttons...when she does, she gets so excited though and it is so stinkin cute. Also, at her next doctors appointment, which is in a couple of weeks, the doctor will talk to Jon & me about starting her on solid foods. I think she is going to be ready...she is starting to eat a lot more milk which doesn't seem to have the staying power that it used to have. Let's see...what else...she LOVES baseball! No lie, she stays glued to the TV when it is on, which is really too bad for her because neither Jon nor I are really crazy about baseball. Poor girl! She has started to enjoy going for walks in her stroller, playing with Dad (which she's always loved), has started grabbing at everything (including my hair, so it is getting chopped when we are in Laramie in a couple of weeks),and is getting too big for her swing. I think she could also roll over at any minute, except for the fact that she has a new-found hatred for being on her tummy. She can't stand it! We put her little arm up underneath her body the other day to help her out and she rolled right over, she just hasn't figured out how to put her arm there by herself. I am sure she will be doing it soon, as she is very active. Well I think that's all for now. Here are a few pictures from the week...hope you like them!

Three Months Old Yesterday

We are long overdue for an update. It has been a crazy few weeks. For starters, we moved. Two days after we got home from Louisiana, we picked up the Budget truck and started loading. We had some friends in Laramie that helped us and by Friday morning we were loaded and headed for Colorado Springs. Our friends joined us, and then after all of the work was done, we ate at a fabulous Sri Lankan restaurant in town. It is so great living in a big city again, if for no other reason than the great variety of restaurants. We were home for the weekend, and then Jon and Hannah left for Ohio, with Jon's dad, where they had a great time hanging out with Grandpa (Hannah's great-great grandpa). They left first thing in the morning on a Tuesday and my dad arrived in Colorado Springs that evening. Dad and I removed wallpaper and painted all week while Jon and Hannah were gone. We finished up when Jon got home...aka, what we didn't have completed, Jon finished for us while Dad and I hung out with Hannah. Dad and I played with her a lot and also took her to the zoo. The zoo here is pretty cool. It is built into Cheyenne Mountain and is very hilly. It also is a bit like a petting zoo, in that you can feed a lot of the animals and some of them (like the wallabies) just roam around freely. Anyway, Hannah got a lot of time with her grandpa and we, of course, got lots of pictures. Once Dad left, Jon and I started unpacking like madmen and completing our list of things to do...moving is a lot of work! We had to change banks, utility companies, cell phones, cable & Internet companies, and much more...we are still working on the list, but are getting things done a little at a time. We are also dog-sitting for Jon's parents' new puppy, Lola. Hannah flew through her three month birthday, but not without a little treat. She got a new toy, which she loves, but I will post about that later. For now, here are some pictures of Hannah while her grandpa (my dad) was here visiting. Taking a nap with grandpa. Hannah Misses Grandma

We had to say goodbye to my mom on Tuesday morning because she had to go back to work. Therefore she did not come with us to the airport. Hannah was just hanging out in her carseat for the drive to New Orleans, although she didn't see to be happy for most of the trip. Then, no lie, as soon as we pulled into the airport she started crying hysterically. Jon, CJ, and I joked that she realized where we were going and was mad about it. I thought it was so sweet to see her so upset, so while it might have been a little mean, I had to take a picture of it. Tears and all, she misses her Grandma already. We love you Mom and I miss you too!
