It's Been Two Years

These pictures came up kind of weird, so I'm not really sure how the post is going to look. Sorry if it's weird! I was doing so well on my week of posts until Hannah's actual birthday, and then the whirlwind kind of began. We had a bunch of family come into town and I spent a ton of time at school the previous weekend to try to get a little caught up. I am still thinking about how quickly these last two years have gone by, and just cannot comprehend how much our baby has changed! I had to show you some of her newborn photos so you could see the difference too! Both of these are from when we were in the hospital and I just can't really even believe that my daughter is the baby in these pictures! I remember what it clearly, but seeing the pictures is a completely different story!

And these two are from the week after her birthday. In the first one we are swimming at the pool in my Dad's hotel. It was freezing, but Hannah loved it just the same! The second one is a picture that I got today. Hannah is spending about ten days at her Grandparents' house in Texas right now. She seems to really be enjoying it and Cindy says that she doesn't seem sad and isn't moping around or anything. I was so relieved to hear how well she handled flying on the plane. Aside from being tired, I think she's having a great time with her "Moe-moe" and "PA-pa!"

Week of Hannah-For your listening pleasure

Hannah woke up in a great mood this morning. Usually when she wakes up in a good mood she is super chatty and has a lot to say. This morning was no different. This is at the end of breakfast...so sorry about the half eaten strawberries on the table. She was originally rocking/singing to the strawberries, but then asked for her monkey. I know that it is probably difficult to understand her, so I will interpret for you. The first one she is singing Row, Row, Row Your Boat...at school they taught her to sway back and forth, so that's what she's doing with her monkey. Then she goes into The Wheels on the Bus at the end of the first one. The second one she starts with the wipers on the bus go "swish, swish, swish." (there's a chance that is backwards too...if so sorry! I can't play the videos until I post it, so we'll see!) I hope you can pick up on the tunes! So turn up the volume and enjoy!

Week of Hannah-Sports Enthusiast

Jon has been playing indoor soccer for the last several weeks. When the games are at reasonable times, Hannah and I will often go watch him play. I usually try to sit on one of the middle bleachers, so that we are high enough for Hannah to see Jon, if she wants to. These bleachers are closed in, so there's no concern that Hannah will fall through or anything. I usually bring a snack and a juice box with me because the games always seem to be around meal time and the snack keeps Hannah entertained for at least a part of the game. A couple of games ago, I knew that Hannah was walking around the bleachers and when I looked around to see where she was, this where I found her. She had climbed to the top of the bleachers and was sitting there watching the game. As I began watching her instead of the game, I noticed that she was yelling: "Oh no!" "Ball, ball, ball!" There were other things that I couldn't make out, but after studying her I realized that she was really into the game! I started cracking up! I was reminded of all the stories that I have heard about her Grandma Cindy and how she handled herself at soccer games of Jon's. She often sat on the top row, all alone because no one wanted to sit next to her because she yelled too much! Apparently it was far too embarrassing to sit with her. I have experienced this to a much milder degree when attending Mariana or Marcela's sporting events, and I am told that she has calmed down over the years. Hannah was doing just that...except that her voice is a little quieter! Then I began laughing even harder, and she didn't even notice me the whole time because she was too busy yelling out orders for her Dad's team!

She finally noticed me after I had taken several pictures of her. Is she biting her nails in nervous anticipation?? I don't know, but it looks like it from the picture! It didn't really seem to bother her either because she didn't leave her post or anything. Funny kid! So, I guess we have a sports enthusiast on our hands...either that or she was just in a particularly funny mood that day!

A Week of Hannah--Playing in the Camper

Being that it is Hannah's birthday week, I've decided to try to do a post each day in her honor! I can't believe that she is going to be two years old on Friday! She is getting more independent and ornery by the day, both of which can cause her to be a little naughty at times. We just have to laugh at some of the things that she does or else we would just be really stressed out all of the time. This was one of those days where you just have to laugh at her. A couple of weekends ago, we had record breaking heat for this time of year (I think it hit 80 that day), so we decided that would be a good day for the zoo. We were dressing Hannah, and I put tights on her just because I figured it would still be chilly in the morning. She vehemently refused to wear anything but the shoes that she dragged out of her closet...aka, her snow/furry boots! I tried to tell her that a different pair would be cooler and better for walking around the zoo, but she wouldn't hear of it! So here she is in her sundress, tights, and winter boots.

We stopped for breakfast at our new favorite breakfast joint. They have some kickin' hot green chile that smother their gigantic breakfast burritos, and they also have great other breakfast food too (which is important because I am not ALWAYS in the mood for a breakfast burrito like Jon). Hannah was pretty hungry by then because I think it was like 10:00 am and all she had, foodwise, was milk. She really enjoyed drinking coffee creamers while we waited for our food.

We got to the zoo and decided to leave. Apparently everyone in town decided to go to the zoo that day also, so there was a 45 minute wait just to get into the parking lot! Thanks, but no thanks. We decided to head home so we could take advantage of the nice day and clean out our camper. We are so completed ready to start camping again! I think we only took the camper out three times in the last two summers, as opposed to the 6-7 times per year, the previous summers. So it is time to get busy! Since we haven't used it much, it needed some good cleaning, organizing, and trashing. So that's what we did. Hannah LOVED playing in the camper. She, in her usual fashion, destroyed everything that I cleaned immediately after I cleaned it, but I just did not feel like fighting that battle! Plus, she was having a great time. She found one of the serving spoons and paper plates and began serving up goldfish. A progression of photos is below.

So, we had goldfish everywhere, but she had a great time so I didn't give her too hard of a time. She just had to help me clean up when she was done! Now our camper is sparkling clean and ready to be taken out. We have scoped out camp sites this winter and even have some trips planned already. I am so stinkin excited and I cannot wait to get outside!
