Solid Food Questions
Okay, all of you Moms out there, I need some advise. Hannah has been eating rice cereal now for almost three weeks. She has been doing okay with it, although she didn't love the rice cereal. the doctor told us to do that for a few weeks and then do oatmeal for a few weeks. We switched to oatmeal yesterday and she loves it! I couldn't tell at first if she liked it or not because she would kind of spit it out onto her bib, but then I realized that she was sucking it up off of the bib. So here's my problem...she likes it...and wants to eat it, but she is having a hard time figuring out how to swallow it (wasn't a problem with the rice cereal). Or, it's possible that she would just prefer to suck it off of her bib. So I need some suggestions as to what to do to keep her from doing this because she obviously will have to learn to swallow (she can't wear a bib forever). So any suggestions you have would be appreciated. In the mean time, I am just going to try to be patient and not encourage her behavior by cracking up. You will see from the two photos below why this will be difficult!

Hannah Rolls!!!
We have suspected it for a while, but have never caught her in the act. Well, we didn't exactly catch her in the act today, but we came close...she's such a sneaky little sucker! We were playing with her this evening and she was cracking up. I decided to take a picture because I just don't have enough pictures of that big toothless grin. So I took a few while Jon tickled her belly. We both looked away because we were watching a movie on TV (and I was looking at the pictures on the camera and showing them to Jon), when he looked back and tapped me on the shoulder. This is what he saw....
One of the pictures of her smiling.
Another picture smiling and pulling Jon's glasses.
Then we looked over...and bam! She had rolled over! She wasn't crazy about the fact that she had turned herself over, but were, so of course we had to take one more photo!

Finally Updated
I have finally updated the blog! It has been a while because obviously we have had a lot going on these last few weeks. We have been all over the place in the last month, but have really enjoyed it. Also, this past week has been crazy because Jon started his job this week (Jon pictured below on his first day). It has taken some adjusting for us all, but especially for Hannah and me as we have been used to having Jon around for the last few months. I think we are starting to figure things out, but it has been a rough week. Hannah is always so excited to see Jon when he gets home and wants to play with him all evening. Jon is really enjoying his job so far and has really enjoyed getting to know the people there. I am looking forward to meeting some of them tomorrow at the baseball game that the firm is sponsoring. It should be fun.
Also, I thought about it a few days ago and realized that not everyone that is reading may know how to do everything. Obviously the posts that are on the main page are here, but there is also an archive section mid-way down the page on the right that has the month and year listed. If you click on those, you can see all of the previous blogs and pictures. You can also leave comments if you'd like. You just have to type in your name if you don't have a google account and then leave your comment. I then get an email stating that you left a comment and can approve them or deny them. Hope this helps a little and I hope that you continue to enjoy the pictures and stories!
Hannah at the Park
We took Hannah to a little park that is about a mile from our house. There is a park on one end and then a lake on the other. She was too small for the baby swing, so we stuffed her blanket in around her and put her frog in too. She didn't seem to mind it too much, but definitely didn't get it. Half the time she looked at us like we were crazy, but it was still fun, at least for Jon and me.
Swinging.

Visiting the Cousins
On our way to Jon's high school reunion in Farmington, NM we stopped in Albuquerque to visit Jon's cousin Abby. We had some super calzones at Sagio's and then went back to her house to relax and hang out. Unfortunately for Abby, Hannah was kind of in a bad mood because she had been traveling all day and he tummy hurt on top of that. But, I am sure that next time Hannah will love hanging out with Abby. Can't wait to see them again in Kansas at Christmas. Then we went to Farmington on Friday and Hannah stayed with Darcy and Ryan while Jon and I went out for the reunion festivities. They had a blast together. Hannah was immediately crazy about Ryan and Ryan felt the same about Hannah. I loved seeing them together and couldn't take enough pictures! I am a little bummed because I don't have any pictures with Darcy, but next time!
Hannah being happy for just a few short minutes at Abby's.

Training Camp
And no, I don't mean for the baby Olympics! Hannah went to her first Broncos training camp a few weeks ago. While she, surprisingly, wasn't the only baby in attendance, she was definitely the cutest. Now she doesn't mind football, although she really loves baseball (she watches it on TV and cracks up when they hit the ball)...I think as the season goes on she will start to like it more...of course there is one condition. Dad can't yell at the TV...which WILL be very hard for him. She did this when she was just a few weeks old and did it again tonight. Jon yelled at the TV about something (it was even good) and Hannah freaked out. She got so upset that she was screaming and tears were pouring out of her little eyes. I had Jon hold her and try to comfort her to let her know that he isn't upset with her (or whatever it is that she feels), but she screamed the entire time. She only started to calm down she he gave her back to me. Poor girl...I felt so bad for her because she was so upset. Jon is definitely going to have to learn to celebrate (or more likely be frustrated this season) in a quieter, more relaxed manner. It will be tough for him! That's besides the point...check out Hannah in her Denver Bronco garb!

Family Pictures
My friend Michell just started a photography business in Laramie and took some pictures of us while we were there last week. We had a lot of fun and the pictures came out great. There are some of the family and then of course some of Hannah. These are just a few of my favorites...if you want to see the rest you can go to her website, http://justpictureitwyoming.com/ and then click on the "online ordering" tab...the rest of them are there. Hope you like them!

Hannah's First Bit of Solids
We took Hannah to the doctor while we were in Laramie this week for her four month appointment. She was 11 lbs. 15 oz. and 24 1/2 inches long. So, she is growing! We also talked about solid foods and got the clearance to start her on solid foods. I am so excited! So, we got home last night and I couldn't help myself...she had her first taste of rice cereal. She didn't seem to mind it, but couldn't figure out what to do with it once it got into her mouth. The pictures are classic!
Hannah's first bite.
Yellowstone, Finally!
Jon and I went to Yellowstone for our five year anniversary. It's kind of a long joke between the two of us. Ever since we moved to Wyoming three years ago, I have been wanting to go to Yellowstone. Now you may be thinking, that's not so absurd of a request, if you know that Yellowstone is in Wyoming. It is about 6-7 (maybe 8) hours from were we live, so it's not like we can just jump in the car and go. Plus, Jon always jokes with me about how he has been, so why should he go again...because I haven't of course! So, three years later, while technically still having a Wyoming address (we checked out of our apartment yesterday) I finally got to go...and it was amazing! Hannah went to stay with Jon's parents for a few days so that we could go. These are only a few of the pictures that we took while we were there.
Montana, on the way to the park.
It was absolutely beautiful...we were literally on top of the mountains.
A peak on the way to the park.
Yellowstone river.
Eating lunch on the way to the park.
Yellowstone river and "Grand Canyon of Yellowstone."
Rainbow at the falls.
Grand Canyon of Yellowstone. It was stunning.
Old Faithful who wasn't so faithful, but it was cool anyway.
Me with one of the many geysers.
Cool pond of boiling hot water.
Mud pots...one of my favorite things in the park!
Buffalo...traffic would stop and people would get out of their cars in the middle of the road to take pictures of buffalo...seriously?? They are all over Wyoming, not just in the park!
