She Smiles

We had to take Hannah to the doctor this week because she was having some tummy problems. We found out that it was reflux, she got some medicine, and is doing MUCH better now. The reason I bring it up is that when she was there, she got weighed. She is up to 8 lbs. 14 oz. now! That is an increase of 13 oz. in two weeks! Holy cow, she is putting on the weight! She is fitting into more and more of her 0-3 month clothes now. I have been so excited for her to wear her little outfit below, but it has swallowed her until today. She is already supporting her daddy's alma mater...
Go pokes!
This is what 8 lbs. 14 oz. of baby looks like.
She's still wearing lots of newborn clothes. That's okay though because I love her little rainbow onsie.
And that's right...she is starting to smile! It's fun because she isn't just smiling randomly anymore...we can actually get her to do it. This is her first smiling picture.

Hannah Update

Well, we had a good trip to Gillette last weekend. Hannah did great in the car and slept the entire time. She had a great time with her grandparents and aunts and got to meet a whole slew of 3rd, 4th, & probably even 5th cousins.
She is starting to be so much fun. She has started to play and has a few "games" up her sleeve, at least that's what Jon calls them. She has a "Little Huey" (from Little Rascals) hairdo, although she can't actually fix it on her own. She also likes to lay on her belly, on her dad's belly, and roll from side to side...she is very serious about this "game" and does not like it when dad doesn't pay enough attention to her. She also flies like Superwoman and occasionally does what I like to call "The Hulk" when she is pooping (Jon calls it The Hercules). She sits in a squatting position (with help of course), holds her hands out by her side like she is flexing her muscles, and grunts really loud, all the while turning bright red. It is hilarious! Unfortunately we haven't been able to catch it on video yet, but we do try.
Here are a few pictures from the weekend and a few other things. Hope you like them!

Big Weekend

Hannah is going to have quite the weekend this weekend. Today, she had her first play date with her friend, Kayden. He is about five weeks older than she is. Kayden, his mom, and big sister met Hannah and me for lunch at the Mexican restaurant today. While Hannah and Kayden slept the whole time, I am certain that they enjoyed each others company! Then, tomorrow Jon, Hannah, and I are heading to Gillette for the weekend. I keep laughing when I try to picture what our car will look like when we have all of Hannah's stuff in it! While Hannah is going to get to see her grandparents, she will also get to meet lots of cousins and Bentley (the wiener dog) too. It should be a good weekend for her. I am sure that we will have more pictures to post after that! Here's a couple more pictures that I took this week and thought were cute. So I am off to get packing!

She's Growing

I was looking at Hannah's belly the other day and could definitely tell that she has grown. I thought it would be fun to have a comparison to her newborn pictures. The first one is from the night she was born and the second one was taken yesterday. Sure enough, she has grown!

Saying Goodbye

The pictures below are of our friends Khalid and Rheem. They are from Saudi Arabia and have a fantastic little boy named Md. We had to say goodbye to them last night. They are going to Saudi Arabia for the summer and then when they return they will be going to Indiana where Khalid will begin a PhD program. We are very sad to see them go, as they are dear friends of ours and we will miss them terribly. We have always had lots of friends that are international students and this is by far the hardest thing about being friends with internationals. While we have friends all over the world we have said goodbye to many people that we love over the years and it never seems to get easier. So we are sad to see them go and do not look forward to more goodbyes that will be said in the future.

One Month Old

I can't believe it! Hannah was a month old on Friday! It has gone by so fast! She has grown so much and getting bigger each day. She went to the doctor at one month to get weighed and measured. Her stats: 8lbs. 1 oz. and 20 3/4 in. She's a growing girl! When we are done with this package of diapers, we are going to be moving out of newborn diapers and I suspect in the next week or so we will need to move her to her 0-3 months clothes! I am sure she's excited about that because she gets whole new wardrobe...okay, maybe she isn't excited, but I am because she has A LOT of cute 0-3 month clothes.
While labor was no fun and it has been hard getting adjusted to a new schedule and our new lives with another person, we have enjoyed this month so much and look forward to many, many more months together. So here are a few more pictures for your enjoyment.Hannah and her mom.
Hanging out in her cute outfit.
Big yawn.
Just hanging out with dad.

Big stretch!Sleeping in her Minnie Mouse dress. It swallowed her the first time she wore it and now it's almost too small.

Are we sick of pictures yet?

I never thought I would find so many things to photograph. I mean, I am not a photographer or anything! But, alas I find things just about everyday. She is just so funny and Jon and I get a lot of amusement out of the little things she does. She cracks us up...a quality I love about her! Check her out...she's so advanced, grabbing and holding on to her toy (maybe with a little help)!
Check out her sweet shades. I've never been much of an "accessorizer," but these sun glasses make me want to be with her. Can't you just see bows, braclets, and her sweet shades?Hilarious!
She was really upset...we threatened to take away her shades...maybe not, but it's a cute picture anyway.
Best "four week old snap shot" we could get. Four weeks today.
Playing with her play gym for her four week old party was exhausting.

Three Weeks Old and Growing

Well I thought I would give you a quick three weeks update and put some pictures up. Hannah is growing like crazy (at least it feels like it). I will be interested to see how much at her doctors appointment next week. A few of the highlights: She is starting to smile, although it's still kind of random right now. She had a breakthrough yesterday. She let me bathe her, put on her diaper, and dress her without crying at all! These are usually all of her least favorite things and cause sudden outbursts of crying and reddening all over, but not yesterday. And she has been better about it all since then too! She is sleeping better and better each day. She actually slept for six hours straight last night! Can't complain about that at all, except that when she sleeps that long, I wake up every five minutes wondering if something is wrong! I guess I will get use to it though. I guess those are the highlights for the week! More too come soon! Just doing her thing in her swing. Are these the cutest feet ever? Our friends gave us this outfit and the best part is the bunny feet!

I put her in her swing all wrapped up in these blankets and this is how I found her five minutes later.
Looking much better after her bath yesterday. She even let me take a few pictures.
She has started resting her head on her arms when she sleeps. I love it!
Relaxing/napping on the couch this afternoon.
Snoozing on Mom's bed while she folds clothes.
Ready for bed.
