That's right folks. It's official...Baby Haddy is fully cooked as of today. I am at 38 weeks with no end in sight! I went to the doctor today to find out that I have made no "progress" since my appointment two weeks ago. Bummer! The doctor was so nice though, he said at first that I wasn't dilated at all, and then he said, well maybe about a fingertip. I think he was just saying that to make me feel better! He was quick to assure me though that we can talk in days, not weeks because it still could be any day now (it could be three weeks too, but I will stay optimistic with days). He said he wasn't surprised at all that I had not made any progress, but that he does expect some changes from now on. I haven't really had any "contractions" that I know of yet. I asked him if that was normal or if I would know when they were happening. He said in the words of one of his old nurses, "honey, you'll know." He did say that I am probably having contractions, but I just don't know it yet because they aren't important right now and that my body will let me know when they are important (aka. with pain). I did ask him if there is a date that they pretty much say, enough is enough and start to talk about inducing. He said that usually by week 41 they will start talking about it because 42 is the cut off. So it's highly possible that my mom, sister, and dad will actually be here for the birth, especially at the rate Hannah's going! He said it kind of sounds like she is just being lazy right now and that if she doesn't get her act together (my words not his) in the next two weeks, we will just have to make her get it together! Next week is my last week of work, so I know by that by my next appointment (next Thursday) we will be anxious for some good news! I will definitely keep you guys posted!
This is a place to put my thoughts down into words, and hopefully share our lives with family and friends in the process.

I Heart Puffs w/Vicks
I have to say that these are the BEST tissues I have ever used! First of all, they smell great which I could totally see being useful for times other than when I am sick (like blocking out the boy smells that come from Jon). I have however been sick the last few days and was given a box of these little jewels. She raved about them and although she hasn't really been sick since discovering them, she is totally hooked and sent us home with the entire box because she just knew that I would love them. She was a big proponent of sharing the wealth. So I took them home despite the awkwardness of stealing their tissues and boy was I glad I did! I brought them home with me late Friday night and actually used the entire box by Saturday afternoon! I had to resort back to my regular tissues after that and let me tell you, my poor nose misses the Puffs Vicks! So, I would highly recommend these tissues to any of you allergy/sinus sufferers or even if you just have a cold. Do it...you won't regret it!Monday, March 9, 2009

35 Weeks and Counting
We are definitely on the downward slope here and Jon and I are getting so excited. In reality, it could be as little as a few weeks! We are working to make sure all of Baby Haddy's stuff fits into our little apartment, which is actually quite challenging. We need a bigger place! So we are trying to figure out some things that we can live without until we move, so that we can make room. The china and china cabinet are getting the boot this weekend.
I have also been trying to motivate myself to make some meals for after she comes. I was highly motivated Sunday afternoon. I made some spaghetti sauce to freeze in individual containers for Jon and me, along with some "lasagna sauce," which is basically souped up spaghetti sauce, with the intent of making a few lasagnas in the near future. I also defrosted a ton, and I mean a ton, of chicken for Jon to grill. This was to then go into some enchiladas, chicken spaghetti, and then just some plain grilled chicken for salads, fajitas, or pasta dishes. Let's just say that after breakfast burritos, spaghetti, and cleaning up my messes, I had lost motivation to do anything with chicken. While I felt bad for making Jon grill all of the chicken that I was not going to use right away, I decided to let myself off of the hook. It has been nice to have the chicken because it has made for easy dinners this week, but that was not the plan. The plan was to use it all for later, but oh well. We (and by we, I mean Jon) can always grill some more chicken! I did finally get it all cut up last night and it is sitting in a bowl waiting to be turned into enchiladas. It's a process!
On another note, I went to the doctor on Monday and the appointment was (as usual) uneventful and boring. I have learned that uneventful and boring is a very good thing when it comes to baby appointments. All this means is that there is just not much news to report...heartbeat, normal...measurements, normal...normal, normal, normal. I did hit a milestone this week, as I now get to go once per week. So bring it on, because that means that D-Day (delivery day) is quickly approaching! I saw both of my fellow prego friends while I was at the doctors office. They are both due about three weeks before me. One was finding out that day whether or not she would be induced early and the other found out that she will be induced on Friday. I have to say that I did feel a bit jealous when I thought about it because we are just so ready to meet Hannah ourselves! But, the way I see it is that if they are delivering safely now, that means that it really is only a matter of time, so I can be patient! 36 more days!
