Last Minute Trip to OK

Hannah and I decided to take a quick weekend trip to Oklahoma to see my Dad after Christmas. We had a great time and got to do lots of fun things. Hannah did surprisingly well with the 10 hour drive (it's really probably 8 1/2 hrs, but it took longer with Hannah)...we got her a little portable DVD player which did the trick! She didn't even get grumpy about it. I was so surprised! We will definitely be taking more road trips in the near future thanks to my new BFF Mr. DVD player...and due to the fact that Hannah's about to turn two and will not longer get to fly for free. Anyway, here are some pictures from our trip.

First Braums ice cream cone...yes, she's eating it in the car on our drive and yes she was a complete wreck by the time we got there but it kept her happy.

We went to the zoo the second day and while most of the animals were not out, we had a great time anyway. We found this slide and it Hannah loved it because not only was it a slide, but it also had like 20 stairs to get up to the top...and Hannah loves a good stair climb!

Hannah shared some of her goldfish with the ducks and geese...we attracted a pretty impressive crowd which was very pleasing Hannah because she LOVES "birds! birds!" As we left the birds, she would say, "bye bye birds!"

Hannah wanted to ride on the merry-go-round thing at the zoo, but then once we put money in and it started going, she wanted off! I think this is before it started...

We also went to a place called Pops (I think)...it's a little outside of town and has a ton of different kinds of soda. We got some to bring home, but we also enjoyed some while we were there. Hannah was a BIG fan of her grape soda...she's only gotten to have soda a couple of times in her life, so it was a big treat for her!

Running around and playing outside of Pops. Hannah was a little stir crazy so we ran around and spun in circles and jumped off the blocks (above) and just got a little exercise!

We also got together at our dear friends (Bill & Kathyrn) house for a little party...I have another picture of all of us girls, but I forgot to put it in the right order. I will post it in a minute. This is us with Ryan Golliver our old neighbor, steak smoking, and dear, dear friend. I was so excited that he decided to grace us with his presence!

Kathryn, the expert Grandma loved getting to play with our girls and read to them. David (on the left) and Vivi are some of our old friends and they came and brought their girls with them. They pretty much all ignored each other until they got to read together on the kitchen floor.

We found this bouncy horse as we were driving past a random garage sale. We got it because Hannah played with one at my Mom's neighbor's house in Louisiana and loved it. It doesn't look like it here, but she loved it. It's really hard to take a picture of a smiling face on this horse when the smiles occur mid bounce!

We decided to stay another day because there was supposed to be a snow storm, which ended up being a bust! We did get a little snow though and got to play outside in it for a while.

Hannah insisted on bringing the smiley face beach ball outside with us. She and my dad had to kick it along...and well it popped, but she was still happy that we brought it out anyway!

She had a great time outside, but her hands were cold so she stole Grandpa's gloves!

She was ticked when we were came in the house. She ran over to the glass door and tried to escape...when she couldn't she slide down and started crying...she cried and pouted in the doorway, for well...a while!

We built a fire in the fireplace...we put our hand up and said, "Hannah it's hot!" So every time she walked by and she would stop and put her hand out and say, "HOT!"

And as a little treat for Grandpa on our last night, she fell asleep in his arms. Grandpa said it was what he'd been waiting on the whole time!

Post-Christmas Time in Louisiana

There is a great park on "the backroad" and we had an amazing time when we brought Hannah there. She feels a need...a need for speed!

Playing with her dinner...funny story about this. She kept picking it up and licking it, but wouldn't eat the meat that my Mom was giving her. I figured maybe she wanted to do it herself, so I had my mom take it and show her how to get the meat out...the more my mom cracked, the more disgusted Hannah got. She refused to have anything to do with us, the dinner table, or eating after that. I guess she didn't like that we had just destroyed her little friend. Sorry Han! I just hope that she is not scarred for life!

Hannah loves all things "bubbles." This is included but not limited to blowing bubbles, water bubbles, the bath, fish (because the make bubbles), and now boats/the bayou. Hannah wanted to go play in the bubbles and was very angry when we left. We are going to have to take her out on the boat the next time we are there...I know she will totally love it!

We went to my Uncle & Aunt's house. They just moved to a new house in Mississippi. Hannah's cousin Michael has the hook up there and got this cool inflatable toy for Christmas. He shared it with Hannah...they had fun.

Getting our toes painted...yes my sister painted both mine and Hannah's toe nails. It was nice to be pampered just a little and Hannah of course loved it...because she is so girly like that!

I have so, so, so many more great pictures, but I have more things to post on, so I am opting to move on...more to come!

Christmas Day

In attempt to get caught up on the many blogs that still need to be written, I am just going to post some pictures of Christmas Day here rather than make little blurbs about each photo. I am sure most of them are self-explanatory anyway. We started the day around 10:00 am by waking Hannah up! She was not happy about being woken up and started out rather grumpy! Obviously she did not understand the excitement of Christmas morning! Anyway, we opened presents although it was a slow going because Hannah wanted to play with every toy and would get mad if we took them away for her to open another present. She was most excited about her stocking because it had candy in it...she's already a choco-holic! We made Christmas cookies, ate lunch, and watched Hannah play with the billions of Christmas decorations that were in my Mom's house...not a bad day!

Gearing up for Christmas

Between Thanksgiving and Christmas we were super busy. We had my mom and Jon's parents in town at different times, a couple of Christmas parties, my best friend Lindy & her family in Denver, more friends visiting, and packing for Louisiana. All the while I was busy trying to put the finishing touches on my application for school, financial aid, registering, etc and quitting my job! Yes, I did say school and quitting my job...I am starting back in January, and while I am super excited, there's just a ton of stuff going on with that right now. It has been nuts! I don't expect it to slow down all that much until February-ish. Currently, I am visiting my Dad and friends in Oklahoma for a long weekend before heading home and jumping into school stuff!

"Sleeping" in the laundry basket...she has a pillow in there along with a blanket and a stuffed animal!

Anytime it's remotely "warm" out, we have to go to the park or for a walk. As you can tell, I'm not the only one that loves to be outside.

We went for a little hike one afternoon after work...it's amazing what a little vitamin D can do for our moods!

First full ponytail! I guess I have been inspired to try new things with Hannah's hair lately...my friend is even going to teach me how to french braid soon!

Waiting with Grandpa at Snooze...the BEST breakfast/brunch joint in Denver! It is always worth the ridiculously long wait!Grandpa and Grandma took her to the Aquarium...she loves all things fish/water/bubbles!

Hannah, Cindy, and I went to the North Pole to see Santa...this was the second attempt for the year and well, the guy just creeps her out...maybe next year!

This was HER popcorn and she really wasn't interested in sharing any with us!
